The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Training (IMDG) is mandatory for all shore-side personnel. In Australia it is legislated by Marine Order 41 (Carriage of dangerous goods) 2017. This became a requirement in Australia in 2012 and was updated by legislation again in 2017. The current edition is Amendment 41-22 (which expires Dec 31 2025) for all shore-side employees dealing with dangerous goods transported by sea. Training should be done every 2 years for all staff.
