Eco driving: general tips
Avoid peak rush. More traffic means more stopping and starting, not to mention stress and headaches, and the big one – so much time is wasted. Unless you absolutely have to, plan carefully to avoid rush traffic by leaving earlier or later.
Try an alternative. If you’re a truck driver carrying a heavy load, or a sales person on an important call, a bicycle or a walk probably won’t be a sensible alternative! Quite often though, you might find yourself using a car habitually when a walk and some fresh air really is the best alternative. Professional drivers lead very responsible, often high pressure, lives. If you can, and if it’s safe, consider an alternative from time to time.
