Brisbane’s growing construction sector, major infrastructure projects, logistics operations, healthcare services and industrial workplaces create ongoing exposure to hazardous manual task risks. Workers who regularly lift, carry, push, pull, move or handle loads may be at increased risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), particularly where repetitive movements, awkward postures or sustained force are involved.
AlertForce’s manual handling training Brisbane employers and workers rely on provides practical guidance on identifying hazardous manual tasks, assessing workplace risks and applying safer work practices. Participants learn how common risk factors such as repetitive movement, vibration, sustained force and awkward postures contribute to workplace injuries, along with practical strategies to reduce those risks through appropriate task design, equipment and safe work procedures.
Aligned with the Safe Work Australia Code of Practice: Hazardous Manual Tasks, this training supports compliance with the WHS Act 2011 (QLD) and helps PCBUs meet their duty to manage workplace risks. Whether you are completing training as an individual worker or seeking workforce-wide compliance solutions, our manual handling training courses provide practical knowledge that can be applied across a broad range of Queensland workplaces. Employers can also learn more about manual handling training and their legal obligations, while workers new to the topic may find it useful to understand what manual handling training is and explore five reasons why manual handling training matters.
This manual handling course provides Brisbane workers with practical knowledge to identify hazardous manual tasks, assess workplace risks and apply safe handling techniques across construction, logistics, warehousing, healthcare, aged care and industrial workplaces. Participants learn how to recognise common risk factors, understand the hierarchy of controls and use safer work practices to help prevent musculoskeletal injuries.

Under the WHS Act 2011 (QLD), PCBUs must eliminate or minimise risks arising from hazardous manual tasks so far as is reasonably practicable. WorkSafe Queensland expects employers to identify manual handling hazards, assess associated risks and implement suitable control measures to reduce the likelihood of workplace injuries.
Hazardous manual tasks may involve lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, holding or restraining loads where workers are exposed to repetitive movement, sustained force, awkward postures, vibration or high force. Training supports workers in understanding these risks and applying safe work practices that contribute to a safer workplace and improved WHS outcomes.
AlertForce provides practical manual handling training for workers and organisations throughout Brisbane and Queensland. Trusted by employers across construction, healthcare, logistics, warehousing, industrial operations and mining support industries, our training helps workers better understand hazardous manual task risks while supporting workplace safety and WHS compliance.

While manual handling certificates do not have a legislated expiry date, many Queensland employers recommend refresher training every two years or whenever workplace procedures, equipment, hazards or job responsibilities change. Refresher training helps workers maintain safe manual handling practices and supports employers in meeting their obligations under the WHS Act 2011 (QLD).

Under the WHS Act 2011 (QLD), PCBUs must identify hazardous manual task risks and implement reasonably practicable measures to eliminate or minimise those risks. This includes providing appropriate training, instruction, supervision and control measures to reduce the likelihood of musculoskeletal injuries.
Manual handling training helps workers understand hazardous manual task risks, recognise common injury factors and apply safer work practices. While training is only one part of risk management, it supports broader WHS compliance obligations and workplace safety outcomes.
Manual handling injuries can occur in almost any workplace, but they are particularly common in construction, logistics, warehousing, healthcare, aged care, manufacturing, industrial operations and mining support environments where workers regularly move equipment, materials or products.
Both options are available. Individual workers can complete training online, while employers can arrange group bookings to provide consistent manual handling training across teams, departments or multiple worksites.
There is no prescribed refresher period under Queensland legislation. However, many organisations recommend refresher training every two years, or sooner if workplace risks change, incidents occur, new equipment is introduced or workers move into different roles involving hazardous manual tasks.
