Who we are

AlertForce started out doing health and safety training courses for the transport industry in 2008. At that stage we weren’t an RTO and partnered with one. We quickly managed to secure 20% of the market around Fatigue Management and that was the humble beginnings of helping out industry with training. Over the next few years it developed as compliance training issues popped up – it was pretty tough in those early years to be honest trying to find out which industries needed help – we built lots of courses online without knowing if anyone needed them. We managed to work it out though – there was IMDG Code training, Food Safety Supervisor training in NSW, Asbestos Awareness (we were the first to produce it online). Then came Comcare HSR training.

The turning point was the introduction of the WHS Act 2011 in early 2012 just after we became an RTO in 2011. That caused an avalanche of customers that needed help with this massive harmonisation and training processes. Asbestos Removal training was absolutely huge and we were pretty much the first to market with the new requirement. This was also around the time of the NBN rollout and after training about 20,000 people in Asbestos Removal we were awarded an official licence from the NBN to help with their mandatory induction program online. There were lots of roadblocks when it was only available face to face so online was the natural way to meet compliance. AlertForce again served probably 20,000 workers on the program.

This took us up until the end of 2015. We then started to get involved with Government Funded Training programs such as Smart and Skilled and VET-FEE HELP. This was a tough time for the company because we made a lot of mistakes, tried to grow and it was a time of increased media coverage. Whilst we were doing the right thing, the education industry was at a low point and there were lots of bad news stories coming out.
