The big change in health and safety happened in 2011 with the introduction of the Model Work Health and Safety Act. This was a move towards harmonisation of health and safety laws around the country. This has had good success but ultimately laws have not been harmonised 100% from state to state. Victoria and Western Australia are still operating under OHS Acts.
