The WorkSafe NSW Approved 5-Day Initial HSR Training course provides elected Health and Safety Representatives with the knowledge and powers required to perform their role under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 in the NSW.

5 Days (35 Hours Total)
Delivered across five full training days as required by WorkSafe NSW.

Elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs)

NSW Requirement
Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW), workers have the right to elect a Health and Safety Representative.
Once elected, the PCBU must:
Allow the HSR to attend approved training
Cover the cost of training
Provide time off at normal pay to complete the course
HSRs must complete an approved initial training course to exercise their full powers, including:
Issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN)
Directing unsafe work to cease
