The RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights course provides nationally recognised training for workers required to perform tasks where there is a risk of falling.
Falls remain one of the leading causes of serious injury and workplace fatalities in Australia. This course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to assess risks, select appropriate control measures, and work safely at heights.

Under WHS Regulations, employers must eliminate or minimise the risk of falls where work is performed at height. Workers performing tasks where there is a risk of falling must be trained and competent in safe work procedures.

Hold a valid Construction Induction (White Card) (if required by site)
Provide valid photo identification
Have basic English literacy skills
Be physically capable of working at heights
Upon successful completion, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights.

Where work involves a risk of falling, employers must ensure workers are trained and competent in safe working at heights procedures.
Initial training is completed in one full day. Refresher training may be shorter depending on experience.
Pricing varies depending on delivery and funding eligibility. ACT Training Fund subsidies may significantly reduce the cost.
While certificates do not expire, many employers require refresher training every 2–3 years.
The ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Authority (TFA) provides subsidies for approved training undertaken by eligible employers and workers in the construction sector. You may be eligible if:
If eligible, your course fee may be partially reimbursed. You or your employer will need to apply for the subsidy after completing the course.
